I would say check the alignment first. Mine has felt sloppy when that was out, otherwise the steering on these is quite tight and tracks very nicely. Too much air in the tires will also make the steering feel jittery. 35psi is about where I keep mine. I check the tire pressure all the time, I have ...

R51's don't have a steering box; they have rack & pinion steering. Front sway bar mount bushings due tend to go bad on these vehicle and there are updated bushings available from Nissan, but they usually cause a "knocking" noise issue, not a steering issue. There are a number of thing...

Steering question

When driving I constantly have to make small corrections. The steering box has no play in it, so what is the next best guess? Could it be the sway bar? It appears that the bushings are bad, however I really haven't had a chance to really look at them. Lower control arms? ETA: The tires are new'ish. ...

I believe everyone has broken the clip. Mine did the first time I swapped the filters probably 5 years ago. Duct tape works fine! Haven't broken mine yet. No idea why as I use quite a bit of force each time I pop it off. Mine came broken, I used a zip tie and just clip it when I change out the filt...

A couple of questions, and I assume the different years for the R51 might be different, so lets use my 2008 S. 1. Do they come pre-wired from the factory to take a factory fog light kit? Meaning, all I have to do is find the connection in the front, mount and attach then switch out the light switch ...

clean all the harness grounds per a TSB to resolve a U1000 trouble code. Explain this, I am not sure what it means I had a check engine light with a U1000 CAN communication trouble code stored. There is a Nissan TSB regarding CEL "on" w/ U1000 and/or U1010 CAN comm codes stored in the mem...

Thanks for the replies. It's the only thing that is rusty on the underbody of the car. I don't know why that is, but I can stick a screw driver into it with no problem. So, it's pretty much shot and I don't use it so I'll probably just remove it and see what happens.

Trailer Hitch question

1. Is the trailer hitch a part of the frame? Meaning, if I removed it would it soften the frame any? 2. Who produces replacements for a 2008? For some reason mine is rusting out on the bottom. I never plan on doing any towing so I really don't need one. However, if it actually a stiffener for the fr...

Not to bring up a old topic, but I have 171,XXX on my 08 Pathfinder. To date I've had the following issues: 1 Transmission/Radiator issue, 2 Fuel Sending Unit (Just changed it out today, works like new) 3 Both lower control arms are going bad, 4 Drivers side window control won't control front passen...

Not to hijack your thread. If you've run traditional oil for years (2008 until now) can you transition over to synthetic without issues? I've been told you can and I've also been told you can't.

A late reply, but life has been busy as of late. Our issue was a lack of refrigerant. Apparently the schrader valve was a little loose and allowed it to leak. The dealer recharged the system and we have had ice cold A/C since. The service tech mentioned that if the pressure in the system is out-of-...

New guy.

I found this site accidentially while searching on how to fix my fuel pump. I've been lurking for a couple of weeks and I'm really glad I found it. I have a 2008 Pathfinder S with 171,XXX miles. Up to about a month ago, other than a main bearing going out and the dreaded radiator/transmission issue ...
