Thanks for taking the time to demo. Mine doesn't do that at all. When I press the release button to open there's a whirring of the lock, but as it closes just a thump. It doesn't get sucked in like that. Weird. Guess I'll have to call the dealer and inquire.

Re: Lift Gate Latch

Shore enough, my 2011 book says the same.... off to the dealer we go!! Thanks Curious if you have an update on this - my '12 says the same in the manual as above but has never shown any evidence of a "power latch", I wouldn't even have known the older models did had I not read this thread...

Ah, good to know. I've had the same problem - was much worse in the summer and sounded like two pieces of styrofoam rubbing together. I had to sit in the way back with my wife at the wheel to pinpoint, but it definitely comes from the hatch and not the headliner or rear cargo trim. I'll try the latc...

I've been considering the bullydog tuner to try and impove the mgp. I have a 2010 4.0l 4wd and average 11-12mpg in town and on the highway I've never gotten better than 17.5...I was quite shocked with how atrocious the mpgs are. Any suggestions? You must be a little heavier on the pedal than me. Wi...

One thing I've noticed is it matters what gas I use. Around here (southern NM) all of the Fina stations became Alon. I have found that I get worse rough idle and some cold start stumble if I use that brand. I've been paying attention to it for a while and I'm sure it's not coincidental.

Nice. Good to see some real coastline. I grew up down in Cornwall, but now live in the south west of the US....not quite the same!

Superb pictures. It's been over 20 years since I last was in Yellowstone and these remind me why I should go back. But now I feel old!

Mine does this too a bit, although it is erratic. It feels like, as you say, a marginally low idle. I have the climate control on mine and the kids fiddle with the rear controls all the time, so it's hard to correlate, but I think it is just the extra load from the system cycling on and off. It does...

Gila mountains

Took the long weekend camping up in the Gila with the kids. The Whitewater Baldy fire up there was growing but 30 miles off and the wind kept the smoke away. We went up FR150 (also called North Star Road on some maps) that heads north up along the Continental divide from the road to Lake Roberts jus...

I've found very approximately that 60/70/80 mph returns about 21/20/19 mpgs. The load on the little picture to the left got 17.9 at about 75. That's with 91 octane.

Ha! Yes, my pfd is not kevlar. Unfortunately that's about it as far as pics go. The iphone stayed buried in the dry bag for the duration. Here's a shot of the Rio Pueblo next to the campground as the sun caught an outcrop opposite early in the morning. http://i1147.photobucket.com/albums/o554/aldawe...

Just a quick flip to Taos and the Rio Grande, first time with boats on the new pathy! First time in a kayak in years too (river roll still works!). Frantic driving, boating, camping for a couple of days - feels like I'm in grad school again. Maybe this is what a mid-life crisis feels like? h...
