Was the engine running at the time or parked on any kind of incline? If not running it's entirely plausible that the dipstick wouldn't be showing any fluid if the vehicle had been sitting for a while.

Gotcha, good to know. That does make it way easier to swap it out the components. I forgot about the HVAC integration on the LE LCD also.

Does a non-nav LE not come with the LCD display where you have access to the TPMS readout, mpg display, the two trip Odo's?

Just curious why your LE prevents your putting in an aftermarket HU? I have an LE with a Kenwood Double DIN. I haven't had any major issues. Had a better response typed up, phone lost it. Try #2, I'd lose the factory GPS I bought. Then the loss of the onboard comp systems like tpms display, etc, th...

Now that you've gone Apple isn't/wasn't there an IPOD interface deal sold for our stereos? I feel like I remember that being available some years ago. Nevermind, I just realized that it wouldn't be compatible unless you got an old Apple product since the interface changes with every new device. Mayb...

Re: Went off road this weekend.

Went off road this weekend thought I would share some pics. Also anyone have any info on a good lift kit 3"? Thanks AFAIK your options are 2" or 5" for straight suspension lift. But it's been a while since I dug into this after going the OME route myself. I do know Calmini still has ...

I'm bored and have internet connectivity for once so I figured I'd reply. Good on you for going Akebono route. I have run Greenstuff on stock rotors and currently Yellowstuff on EBC solid rotors. The Green setup was junk and soft. The Yellow setup is a much better. I attribute this to my modificatio...

I've slept in the back of my '06 for several weeks before. The key is removing the middle row seat bottom cushions then you have ample length since they don't flip up creating that artificial wall. Assuming you don't need them for actual seating purposes during the day.

Check the owners manual but IIRC the parking brake is adjusted automatically when reversing. Try backing up several times somewhere. Although yours may be glazed at this point and would require scuffing or replacement. Download the Brakes section of the FSM for guidance on replacement.

... resulting in the VDC/SLIP warning lights coming on and you'll need a scantool to reset it. As an aside you don't need any tools to reset the VDC/SLIP lights after losing power. A drive in a straight line (IIRC the manual states do this at 30mph) will recalibrate the system and the lights will g...

A bit late but vehicles being produced since whenever have included a fuel cut off switch activated by inertia, IE: the big bumps. Had a friend who was able to set his off in an '01 Focus by going over certain train tracks a certain way. Exact same symptoms but this one was a manual reset IIRC. Desi...

2006 Pathfinder 4wd not engaging/no dash light

Anyone seen or heard of an issue where there is no response from the vehicle when attempting to change from 2wd to either Auto, 4-High or 4-Low? When turning the selector switch there is no audible chirp, the LCD 4wd Shift Indicator Lamp does not change which part of the vehicle outline is "act...

Sorry but those weights aren't right. Why do you think that? 2005 SE Off Road curb weight that I could find is 4,489. Add in the 1,920 of the trailer and you've got 6409. He said he scaled out at 6580, 171lb's heavier that the theoretical weight. Seems reasonable to me accounting for a driver or fu...
