Check the dipstick/ drain just a small bit form the tranny pan. Check for the strawberry milkshake. At what mileage did your timing chain fail? Mine has an needs to be replaced but i have 80K miles now on my 05 and am having a hard time bringing it to the dealer because it clearly should be recalled...

Did the bypass last night with 80,022mi! yikes, thank god no mixing. looked a nice cherry red color. connected the tubes and put the air dam and skid plate back up. No to solve the timing chain guide buzz! :x

I have just shy of 80,000mi and went to do the bypass last night but on the ends of the black plastic air dam are bolts with those square clips that are supposed to not turn. Well of course everything is rusted. I sprsayed them down and will hit with heat tonight to try and break loose..anyone have ...

Bringing up a sensitive issue with me. I had the issue start at 66K miles out of warranty obviously...now have 79900mi. i have been denied service ny Nissan corporate after months of persistence. I was offered a $250 credit by mail. I have been quoted anywhere from $1200 to $1600 by multiple dealers...

the noise does not go away. it gets louder as the RPM's increase. It has gotten more predominant the longer I have driven it 10,000mi with issue...

I have a 2005 and had the issue start up around 67000mi. I fought with Nissan corp for a month and the best they could do was a $250credit to cover a 1200 estimate. Absolutely rediculous! They have a known defective problem ( a plastic friggen piece they couldnt make right!) that they arent standing...

the tensioner should prob be easy to do with the top covers off the engine while you change the belt. The belt was sort of a pain but i have big hands.

I just replaced my belt as well. thought the tensioner had a bit of play as well but all seems OK

so it would still be cooled through that...why even have it going through the radiator to begin with? extra cooling I guess. I nee to look into this bypass as i have an 05 with 75K
