Replacing rear bumper cover - what to do?

I was rear-ended in a storm last month which for the most part just cracked my rear bumper cover. Her insurance paid the quoted price for full replacement (cash in the bank now). And now I'm contemplating 3 things. 1. Do I just live with the cracked cover? You can barely tell it's broken, but the 2 ...

Good to know NVRDONE, thanks. I'll probably just get some chains from Les Schwab for that "just in case" time...

That video is EXACTLY the conditions we had, and that I'm concerned about. It was even filmed up here - King5 is a Seattle news station. I just am having a hard time justifying the cost of getting studded tires for daily driving when they "may" be useful 5 or so times in the season. But th...

The speed issue with chains/cables was a concern we thought of too. They would be good to get out of a jam, but not regular driving. From what I can tell, studded tires here are used (and allowed) regularly. I've yet to talk to a tire shop about this, and their overall advice though. I'm sure they'd...

Maybe a loose exhaust shroud/heat shield? I don't know if on Pathy's they tend to get loose, but I've had other vehicles that the shrouds loosen up and vibrate and they kinda sound like a diesel...

Definitley good point, thanks! On the storm last month I "played" a bit in a parking lot to get a feel for what could happen, how much acceleration I could give, etc. It was fun too! One worry I hear from the news here though is because we're so wet, when a snow storm hits, all the m...

Snow and ice driving, what do you use (tires, chains, etc).

We've recently relocated to the Seattle area (from SoCal) and are working to get accustomed to the changing conditions up here - yet we love it so far! But in the Seattle area, it looks as if we do get some occasional days of snow and/or ice instead of just rain. We both have 4x4's (my Pathy and her...

I'd really like to get Shrockworks, but each piece is a lot ($$$) for me right now. I can get the full set of skids from Nissan for @ $200 TOTAL. Each piece from Shrockworks is from $130-220 EACH. Yea, I'm sure they're better protection, but for what kind of off-roading I will do I feel OK with OEM ...

Probably just the OEM protectors like the Off Road. I don't do any major off-roading. I just want extra protection at a reasonable cost. So that's what they're considered..."protectors"?

Need skid plates. Got part #'s, or them available?

I've been scouring Courtesy and Fontana Nissan(s) and this site and for the life of me I cannot find the skid plates (#'s or items) for the R51. Anyone know them? Or have a link for them?

I just wanna add some extra protection underneath...Thanks!

Thanks guys. I think I'll get some OEM belts and stick with Mobil 1. And I agree, 20k+ miles would definitely be 2+ years for me. AMSOIL's website states under normal usage that their oil could go 35K miles! But to change their oil every year if that comes first. So very overkill on the mileage usag...

Engine belts and AMSOIL suggestions?

First the simple one - belts. Mine started squealing when cold recently. Any suggestions on what type/make to get? Then oils (engine and tranny). I met an AMSOIL rep recently and he got me thinking of shifting to AMSOIL. First, I'm semi-hesitant on even going synthetic since then you're stuck with s...

Well, I think I got pretty lucky. I bent back the parts that looked bent and attempted a re-mount. The rear "twist" clip made a decent hold. The top screw hole though...still a bit of an issue. I think the bottom bracket that was bent is still too far tweaked to get the best alignment to p...
