weird on the switch sticking. Its just a switch, so it freely moves from 2wd to 4wd. Maybe you spilled something on it? The switch did not stick; it simply would not move back into 2WD. It would go to 4WD Lo, but not 2WD. It is working fine now, but it's not that cold. Nothing was spilled in it. Ap...

Was at the dealership today, and of course they couldn't duplicate the problem, and there were no diagnostic codes!

Help, 2011, 4 wheel drive issues

We have a 2011 Pathfinder, and this winter we experienced issues switching in/out of 4 wheel drive. When it was cold (below about 15*F), we could switch into 4 high, but had a heck of a time getting it to switch back into 2 wheel drive- the selector knob would not turn. As soon as it warmed up a lit...

I have a 2002 Chevy S-10, and once I was out of warranty I began 10,000 mile oil changes using Mobil 1, and Fram extended Oil Filter. I retired 2 years ago, and do not put anywhere near the mileage on her any more, and now change the oil every 12 months or so. She's got 112,000 miles on her and stil...

Wow, 128K; I would at least consider doing a couple of "drain & fills"

Why didn't Nissan use a Maintenance free battery??

I have a 2011 PF, and was surprised to find out my battery is not a Maintenance Free Battery; aren't most manufacturer's using Maint Free batteries now-adays?

Called our Nissan Dealership yesterday:
1. Drain and fill is $160- I can buy trans fluid for $9/qt on ebay
2. They don't do flushes, as they believe the small metal particles need to stay in the fluid- Not sure about that one!

How many quarts do I need for a drain and fill?

Yeah, I hear you on the Flush, and from what I've read here I would do it either.

I guess I'll stick to my plan of doing a drain and fill every 15,000 miles so the fluid doesn't get a chance to get that dark in color.

I guess what I'm saying is if yu are only replacing 4 quarts at a time, it's going to take you a lot more fluid before the trans fluid is like new.

Additionally, isn't it contaminates that make the fluid change to a dark color.

Mine wasn't far off from this. Yes I do tow. I did 4 drain and fills, now its about 1/2 that color. You've gone through 16 quarts of trans fluid so far, and you still have contaminated fluid it the trans; I'm not sure the darin and fill is the best approach for trans maintenance. When it comes time...
