Pathfinder Bottoms Out

When I first bought my Pathfinder it bottomed out in the rear quite easily.I replaced the rear coils and shocks with new ones and it still bottoms out when I'm offroading. I used MOOG stock replacement springs and Sensa direct replacement shocks.Is there a better set up to eliminate this?

You could use a set of Airlift 1000 air bags. The R51 folds love them and they make them for the R50, as well.

I have the same issue with mine, although I'm not off-roading. I replaced the rear shocks, along with the front struts, and still, if I hit a wicked bump, I really feel it in the backside. I sometimes wonder if I did something wrong when I installed the shocks, or if I should replace the coil springs as I so frequently hear others on these forums suggest. Is it something inherent in the design? I don't ever recall the earlier Paths (1988 to 1995) behaving this way, maybe because they're more truck based?

I think it might be in the design of the unit. There's probably a better spring/ shock combo out there but I went with stock replacements.The shocks were Monroe Sensatracs and not the Sensa I listed earlier.The shocks were larger in diameter than the ones I took out and the old ones were definitely done.

As far as slowing down ,any slower and I'd be stopped.I'm now bottoming out at 20kmh down a back road that I could fly down with my Jeep GC or my 4Runner.

Kind of bummed out by the performance of this suv.
