2005 off road fuel sender/cel

I get a cel intermittently and the code has to due with improper fuel level? Also occasionally my fuel guage is erratic, meaning it does not appear to drop fully, or rise fully, and the dte will indicate 90or so miles left, and then show zero with a quarter tank. Thanks in advance.

That's very common and there is a Nissan service bulletin on it, as well. The fuel tank needs to be removed and then the fuel sending unit needs to be replaced along with the fuel sender "O" ring.

Thanks for the quick response. After I did some further reading I found this out. What I didnt see was, is it recommended to replace the fuel pump as well? 110k miles now, and should I use oem parts? This is my first PT as I am a die hard GM guy. Thanks again

I would use the genuine Nissan sender. If there's nothing wrong with the fuel pump, I would leave it. I don't hear of a lot of problems with the fuel pump. If you replace the fuel pump, stick with genuine Nissan. As far as fuel tanks go, it's not too bad to R&R. It has a flat bottom and pretty much drop straight down. Disconnect the rear drive shaft and secure out of the way for some room. Be careful with the plastic clip on the tank vent hose as it's easy to break!
