New Bulbs = Headlight Adjustment

Postby ghostrider990 » Tue Dec 07, 2010 8:06 am

I just replaced the Bulbs in the PF - got Phillips X-tremes for $33.
Have to say, a marked improvement over the Sylvania Silverstars!
Much brighter on the lows, and MUCH further REACH on the Highs.
Just as marketed! (amazing)

However - with better light, I now need an adjustment.
The "hot spots" are VERY prevalent with these bulbs.

**So I looked-up the adjustment procedure in the FSM, and it's TOTALLY not the same as what's on my Pathy!**

FSM shows adjustments made with a screw-driver, when in fact an 8mm socket is needed.

I had no serious issues accessing the Vertical Axis adj. knob -- but how do you actually reach the HOrizontal adjuster on the bottom of the headlamp housing????

There is an access hole in the frame, but it's so off-center that a socket extender will NOT fit thru, and be able to adjust the 8mm nut on the assembly!

SO - do I have to remove the ENTIRE LAMP ASSEMBLY??
