Same with my newly acquired 2001 pathfinder. This bent rod is a good sign of prolonged driving with worn out trailing arms on the rear as well as worn out shocks and springs. I replaced my pathfinders entire front and rear suspension minus the sway bars just replaced the bushings only. I also put on new tires. The pathfinder drives like new but still has a small amount of sway. I'm guessing that is normal for this car. I bought all the suspension parts on eBay for dirt cheap <$700. However if I had more time and money I've read on other forums that others have gone to places like 4Wheel Parts and bought upgraded suspension components. This would be the way to go as I now realize that the engineered spec suspension from nissan is substandard and has limited longevity.
