Inside the gas door it says "Premium gas is recommended for best performance" (or something like that) but it didn't say that premium was required. So I'm curious, what gas do people get the best mileage out of premium or regular?

Any harm in just using straight 87 octane? or should I keep it at premium (93 octace)?

Cheers!
Hi buddy
Using premium gas will not affect the engine that will get rusted or soon with low quality gas. Moreover, less carbon content will be less harmful when we consider environment. And even you can enjoy better mileage with such options. Hope you will have a better ride.
That's the 3rd post that you've made that have not made any sense to me.

It depends on how you've been driving prior to the fill up. On the highway it will say 300+ miles to empty but if I fill up after driving around town it's in the 280 range.

It's taking an average of your recent driving history.

That's the gas station in Furnace Creek. I've had to fill up there before.

When my wife used to drive the pathy it read 330-340 distance to empty but now that I have it (he he he....VROOM), it says 250 for me. I can't seem to figure it out

I've used 93 since i bought it Unsure what was used the first 50k. With 93 currently at $4.50/gallon i may drop down to 89 for a few tanks to see if i notice and adverse effects then may try 87.

I think i read in the manual that they recommend 91, which we dont have around here. but for the extra $1-2 per tank i dont mind putting 93 in it.

also, as gas prices increase gas stations are up'ing the ethenal content in the lower grade gas so they can drop the price. so keep that in mind while you are getting the lower grade gas you might also be getting more ethenal.
