How are your air bags /air lift kit holding up?

Postby marc515 » Fri Jan 20, 2012 8:25 am

Thinking about installing the air bags on our 2011 PF, and am just wondering if anyone has has any problems with them, and did they improve your towing experience. Thank you!

Mine finally died after 4 years of abuse. But they're cheap, just need to find some time to put a new kit in...

Good to see your still out there, RacerZX. Haven't seen you for a while!

Mine are in good shape after 3 years and really cold winters.

Mine leak. They don't last a day after I pump them up. I haven't looked for the leak yet, but I will post here as soon as I get a chance to look - probably this weekend.

Mine leaked after two years. The hole is on the bottom where it sits on the rear control arms.

Haven't taken it out yet to see what was the cause

I installed mine last October, after towing one season in our 2011 stock. I keep them at 15# all the time though and feel they significantly improve the ride (esp body roll). We've had seven people on board, 400+ pounds of ceramic tile, and loaded up a bumper carrier to go camping...in all cases it handled better than before the airlift.

Our winter was mild, but we did have a about a month worth of sub-zero nights. I have not added air since installing last fall and the bags not lost any air. Time will tell how durable they are, but so far I'm quite pleased with the performance.

3 years on mine and they are great. No leaks at all. It's one of the best bang-for-the-buck mods you can do. You won't regret it.

No problems to report. Towed with it the first time last weekend and it does not look like a hyena with something on the tow-hitch. Ride feels better as well.

Just wanted to give an update on this. I contacted the manufacturer. All I had to do was send them a picture of the bad air bag, and they over-nighted me a replacement. Great service!

I had to pay $10 for a replacement. Their service seems dependent on who you speak to

I've had mine on for about a year..still holding air. I've had my pathfinder for about 1 1/2 years, love the looks and the power, other than that it's loud, horrible ride, back seat smaller than crap, way back back seat worthless, mines already rusting, had to dump $1400 into ac line leak, sucks for car infant seats if you have kids. Okay I'm done...had to vent a little :)

I have the AirLift 1000's and there amazing.

This is my second year with them and I haul a big boat that would normally bring the bumper to the ground...lol

I also keep the same pressure in year round. Around 20psi I think.

Just ordered my air lift today. I am hoping that it is as easy to install as everyone says it is.

Mine are holding up great... I run them on the higher end of the rated capacity (typically about 24 psi), but I cant' stand body roll and don't take many long drives with the car, so I can deal with the slightly rougher ride.
