Genuine Nissan Navigation Docking

Postby Jerseyparts » Wed Jun 18, 2008 5:36 am

Ok Guys, I don't know if you guys are aware of this, but Nissan has introduced a Docking Station for 2005-2008 Pathfinder.
This handy little item allows you to remove the coin holder at the top of your dash above your radio, and replace it with this docking station.
This station will allow you to hide a Garmin Nuvi 7 series Navigational unit, (Also available from Nissan) so you can flip it open when needed, and close it when parked to keep it safe.
These stations come in 3 colors, Dark Gray, Steel (lt Gray) and Beige.
Here is a pic of one installed on a Frontier:

Yep it was designed for the 08 Dash, which by luck the coin holder is the same as the 2005-2008.

Nice. I might just get it. It's available in three colors. Is this the correct color matchings?

Code: Select all

GPS Dock = Nissan interior color
Dark Gray  =  Graphite
Beige      =  Caffe Latte
Steel      =  ???

The Pathfinder only uses the 2 interior colors,

Dark Gray and Beige.

How can that fit an 08 Pathfinder? I don't see it.

You can't already have the factory nav. Skipping the nav gives you a re-organized center console area.

You can pretty much see how it looks in these pictures:

Just found this picture that is supposedly the 08 SE dashboard.

this would only fit the S or SE model with the base stereo (i.e. the non-bose stereo).

the SE-OR and the LE have the bose stereo with the integrated display so this would not fit. it would also not fit the LE with nav.

the ones that get the shaft on this deal are the SE-OR and non-nav LE owners. no way to add factory nav, and no place to install the hide-away nav. we would have to use the window mount...

FWIW, the picture in the link is what the dash looks like in my 2006 Pathfinder SE 4WD. The only difference is the "BOSE" is missing from the radio.

I just ordered one so we'll see how it goes.

You should have no problem, as long as you don't already have the Nissan in-dash NAV option.

I put it in my '07 SE. It took me less than an hour, which included swapping the supplied mount for the one that came with my nuvi 760 and modifying the power cable with a cigarette-lighter outlet, so I could take advantage of the traffic receiver.

Camera is working now and I have to install my remote microphone option (recommended if you will be using the Bluetooth hands-free). So I'll take some pix this weekend and add them to the previous thread on this topic: NAV System: Not stock but works great!, and link here.

Indash NAV is not the question here. I don't have in dash Nav, but I know it wont fit my truck.

I am unsure of what the base radio looks like? Dont know if I have it, but, 6 cd changer doesnt sound base level to me. I do have the back-up camera and all that, but no INdash Nav/bluetooth etc..

for the 08's, the bottom line is:

if you have the ~6 display screen (with or without the nav software), then you CANNOT use the "above the radio" pop-up nav.

if you have the radio that looks like a typical stock radio, with the small display, and the the above the radio coin/storage tray, then you can use the pop-up nav system.

i think the 08's were the first year to offer the display screen radio without the nav. (to be verified)

the SE model interior, from vehix.com

The LE model on vehix.com does not show the upgraded stereo, with nav and hard drive storage, but it is physically very similar to the SE stereo.

I hope this clears up some of the confusion...

Is there an '08 SE OR pkg? I just bought the '05 SE OR and was hoping to install this. I haven't even seen the dash yet!

Just saw that there is an '08 SE OR pkg (although a dealer told me otherwise!).

Does the unit have to be a Garmin 7 series?? I found some really nice Garmin units that are roughly the same size and a couple hundred bucks cheaper. I cant find any info on what the station is compatible with. Anybody know? Thanks
