I wonder why Nissan would program the tranny to shift right at the optimum crusing speed, 40 mph. I was wondering if this constant up/down shifting could do any damage in the long run. As a result I have had to increase my speeding-oops I mean speed!! wink! wink! _________________ YT

| Just my opinion, but I don't really have a problem with it. In the 35 zones you can lock in cruise control at 41 and stay in overdrive. With a shift point any higher you'd miss those opportunities, but it does pretty much necessitate using cruise control. Of course, I'm in Florida and it's completely flat here, so you might have other concerns. |

| i like the way the transmission is set up its very solid shifts at red line when you want it and keeps things calm when poking around town |

For any who have the US Off Road edition with taller tires does the transmission also shift into OD at just over 40 mph, or around 45 mph. Thanks.
