1991 4WD electronically controlled suspension

1991 4WD electronically controlled suspension

the front suspension on my pathfinder is electronically controlled, which allows me to switch from sport to touring suspension. my driver's side shock is blown, and i need to replace it. however, i only need to get it down the road far enough to unload it, as the vehicle is near the end of its life. question: do i have to use a new electronic control shock, or can i just put a cheap, regular one in its place?
