2001 Pathfinder (some issues) need a lil help/info.

Hi guys - i have some questions about my 2001 Pathfinder SE 3.5

Lately i've been hearing two noises. :?

1) the first is from the engine - it kinda sounds like when your valves rattle when you put poor quality gas in your vehicle but i use nothing but premium and i throw in a fuel injector cleaner every few full ups.

The noise generally happens when you move off from a fullstop - and you hear it up until about 25MPH - like say up until the shift into 2nd gear - and right after the shift into 2nd thats like when you hear it the most, after that no more rattling - does anyone think its a problem with a valve? and the location of the noise seems to be more on the passenger side closer to the firewall.

2) the second noise comes from the rear - more specifically from around the passenger side rear wheel - it sounds like a clicking sound. Doesn't make the noise on smooth pavement - but if you hit a rough piece of road or so you hear it. I was thinking maybe the shocks need to change - i dunno - just wanted some advice/info/opinions/solutions

Thanks

The noise by the rear passenger side wheel looks like the Body mounts. i noticed that the two body mounts on top of the rear axle are actually broken/busted. Thought it was shocks but when i inspected them they look and feel fine.

Does anybody know of any websites that i could look at to see how much these body mounts run?

Thanks.

Body mounts ???? do you mean maybe link bushings ?? are they rubber cylinder where a bolt goes through them ?

if so, I found mine here since I live in canada : http://www.autopartsway.ca/autoparts2/i ... 4WD~241517

If you are in the us, then I think they have a mother company there too.

Or i've been reading alot on the net lately that it has something to do with 2 screws in the intake manifold that when loose rattle. Eventually thry break and fall into the cylinder.

Before i try to check these screws myself anybody have a diagram or where these 2 screws are in the intake mainfiold?

It is more than 2 screws...it's actually 12.... 2 for each intake runner...

This is a potential engine killer if not addressed ... If you have a manual transmission, then you do not have these screws, but if you have an automatic, I suggest **urgently** that you look here :
