2011 R51 Suspension Lift Options

Postby Born2hunt » Fri May 01, 2020 11:56 am

Hi everyone first time poster here I’m planning to change out my suspension and wanted to add an inch or two in the process, but I’m having a difficult time finding kits that are still available for the R51. My budget is around $1K. It seems there are only 2 options – Fox and OME (I’d prefer to buy US made, but at least not made in China so I’d like to avoid Rancho). I also tried finding Bilstein 5100 but can’t find any for the R51.
Problem is the Fox kit only allows an inch increase on the rear, which would make my rear about an inch lower than the front if I raise the front the full 2â€. It could be that my rear suspension is sagging and that’s why it’s running level with the front right now, so maybe adding an inch would actually add a few if it’s already sagging. I would also have to buy new coil springs but the only ones I’m finding online are ARBs that would add 1 ¼†– I don’t know if that additional ¼†would be a problem but I assume it would be.

I’ve also looked into the OME, but on Rocky road Outfitters he has a note that if I have a pathfinder made in North America it may not fit and there’s no warranty/refund if it doesn’t. Mine was made in the US so I don’t want to drop $1K only to find out it doesn’t fit and they won’t take it back. I spoke with a local shop that reps OME and they said OME doesn’t make a kit that fits the R51. I emailed ARB last night to verify that and haven’t heard back yet.

I never expected to run into so many issues just finding a kit that would fit the pathfinder, knowing what it can already do off road with good tires I’m blown away there aren’t more suspension lift options out there. If anyone has recent experience with products still on the market I’d really appreciate some help.

You could use stock height Moog springs with a spacer or Armada rear springs. I haven't used the Armada Springs but a few guys around here have and can maybe chime in.

nissteclifts.com

They should carry a 2"-3" kit for you pathfinder.

But also some OME stuff.

Following this, I was signing in to ask a similar question. I have a 2005 Pathy and it needs tires and rear shocks, so I thought Id see what there is out there for a 1-2 inch lift.

Also want to know what size tires I can go to for a 1 in lift and a 2 inch lift without doing any mods to the body.

Another question, how do I know if my Pathy is US made or not??

It looks like the Old Man Emu lift is a 2-3 in lift which is more than I want.

Thanks for your help!

~ Phil
