2017 NAVI system is a big disappointment

Oh yeah, it's the geek bling with flashing lights, just can't get enough.

2017 NAVI system is a big disappointment

Postby littledale » Sat May 13, 2017 9:48 am

I just traded in my 2015 Dodge Journey for a brand new 2017 Pathfinder. I really like most things on the Path, but am very disappointed with the GPS system in comparison with the Dodge GPS. There is no digital speed readout and I have found that many roads in my location (Chilliwack, BC) are not in the system. Also, the display shows, in large print, the name of the street that I am traveling on (which I almost always already know) but I find it very hard to see the names of the approaching cross streets The Dodge GPS shows, in large print, the name of the next approaching cross street which is very helpful when you are trying to find a location. The search function and address input function seems better on the Path but overall, I am not a fan. I am going to buy a Garmin unit to put in so that I have more functionality.

Yeah, you are not the first guy that is not happy about it from what I have seen. I have done some reading as I wanted to get on lease new 2017 pathfinder, but I think I'll pass and instead pick something else on DSRLeasing. I'm really a navi guy

NAVI needs improvement

Postby littledale » Thu Jun 15, 2017 1:57 pm

Even though I paid extra to have the NAVI option, I have bought a separate Garmin GPS so that I have all of the functions that I want. I can't believe that in this day and age there is no digital speed readout on either the dash instruments or on the NAVI. I do however really like the functions on the Garmin GPS but am disappointed that I now have a separate unit sitting on my dash instead of a built in. The Garmin also has way better map coverage and many more POIs

Nissan navi and Nissan connect

Postby jag19651 » Wed Jun 21, 2017 6:26 pm

I just bought a 2017 Rouge , fully loaded with navi and Nissan connect for
My wife
Nissan should scrap the Nissan connect system all together
It's horrible.
We are spoiled with pioneer aftermarket radios with carplay
Her old car had the Pioneer Nex 5200 and my truck has the Pioneer Nex 4200
These systems do a much better job
These systems also have android auto
You can plug an iPhone in or an android in at any time and it so easy to use and it's FREE to use , unlike Nissan auto
I called the Nissan engineers and told them that they should just let Pioneer do the infotainment portion of the vehicle, just like they let Bose do the audio
My next truck will have carplay , who makes the truck will be secondary
