We cut the bumper. ARB has a template. It's real easy to do.

Hey there, great to hear from you man! And that rig is looking fantastic! Very impressed. Kids and the Miss and I are planning a spring break road trip around CA in 2010, so sure we should try to hook up for another day tumbling around DV. I heard the old Manson hide-out burned down recently, doh, would have been nice to be able to see that...

Great work! It's nice to see a V8 Pathy getting these mods. I will certainly be taking cues from your build when planning out future add-ons to mine.

--Actually, I'm not sure what I am going to do...I really like the Pathfinder, and find it suits my need more than a Jeep  or anything else. I have a few months left on my lease, so I may keep it, or upgrade to a newer (v8 if the deal is right). The car is really beat up (so I am expecting to get dinged on the wear and tear, unless Nissan decides to deal) cosmetically. If I keep it, you can expect some more "aggressive" mods. I will keep everyone informed.

Man, your rig is impressive. I'd love to have my Armada geared up the same way.
I'm coming from clubarmada.com where you posted some time ago about the ARB diff lock for our R230. Glad I found you here to see your setup.
rragpaoa wrote:you have to make a slight modification to the gears since the ARB locker is designed for the international Pathy with the 3.538 gearing and up. We have the 3.56 gearing and down, so the RP offset is a bit off. No worries, it's an easy fix to fit the locker.
1) Could you please elaborate on the slight modification needed.

2) Also, I assume my Armada has the 3.36 gear ratio but I'm not sure. It's a 4x4 LE but with Middle East specs, they stripped them from certain things. I don't have the tow package that all LEs in the US have for example. How can I check my gear ratio?

3) I understand from what you posted that ARB is working on a diff lock for our front M205 and that it is expected Q2 2010. Is that correct?

Thanks.

Paul

For the rear bumper. We did some prelim measurements. We could actually use any rear bumper for the 05+ Xterra. There has to be a slight modification to the bracket that attaches to the frame since the Pathy bolts a bit different and we have to cut the bumper. The Xterra has a separate 3rd piece that just bolts off, but the Pathy is a single piece that just needs to be cut. Unfortunately, ARB has no plans for a rear bumper for the Pathy.

Looking into the KMA bumper. Here is one installed on an Xterra:

This looks alright for the rear. Not sure about the differences between the Russian and US models. There appears to be some sort of factory cutouts for mounts on the bumper cover below each taillight.

those are just holes for the reflectors. I guess for europe they have to have aux reflectors. looks ugly by the way. underneath the bumper is the same basically. so for installation of the rack you would have to drill holes in those locations.

BTW, don't forget that EU version rear bumper, as well as in AUS are shorter. US version cars equipped with bumper which is 1 rhomb longer and yes - there is a passive reflectors versus clear bumper for US.

So, need to check is the calipers are sufficiently long for US version.

Got any info on the SW rear bumper for the R51? I don't see anything on their site.

HI! ..I have a european pathy. (I live in Italy)
with 2.5L Diesel 4WD.

I would mount a locker ARB but here, in Italy, these things unknown.
(Including mechanical nissan official!)

I read in a post from rragpaoa that the rear differential of the pathy is the same for all types (Americans and Europeans) to existing engines.

is it true?

rragpaoa wrote:Thanks Guys. Good to be back.

Anyway, to answer your questions:

First let me first clarify that the ARB locker is for the rear R230 diff found on the V8 Pathy and the Armada as well as the international Pathy with diesel engines. However .... you can easily replace..........

meaning ..
If I purchase a kit ARB in an official dealer for my R51 pathy without saying the number of turns of the crown of the differential (because here nobody, nobody, can tell me how many there are) I get the kit that is sure is good also for my car?

somebody can help me?

[i apologize fom my bad english!]
