"Configuration Failed because Consult in Connected"

Postby thejean » Wed Jan 28, 2009 9:24 pm

I get this message on the display after having an aftermarket alarm system installed today. The message pops up right after startup and then goes away. I am assuming that Consult is an ECU software thing and that they had to access the ecu to bypass the key recognition in the ECU. Will I continue to get this message and does anyone else get the same message? I had a Viper installed. Thanks, JC

Does it say "consult IN connected" or "consult IS connected"? Just wondering if you have a typo in the Subject.

At any rate the consult referred to is probably the Consult programming tool that Nissan uses to manage it's vehicles. The installers maybe tapped into an incorrect wire or didn't properly connect the Viper in some other way? Never heard of it before.

It says "IS", not IN. The installer is checking it out with Nissan. What a PITA.
