By your description it sounds like your charging system isn't doing its job and drained your new battery. First thing you need to do is charge the battery and then load test it to confirm it's good. If the battery is good, it should start the vehicle unless the starter is bad. First thing to do would be to turn the key to the "ON" position and confirm the charging system warning light illuminates on the dash during the bulb check. If not, check the bulb and circuit. If it does illuminate, start the vehicle and use a voltmeter to check the charging system; most Nissans charge around 14.7 volts, but 13.2 to 15.0 volts is acceptable. This is tested with loads "off" and "on," as well as at idle and at 3000RPM. If the voltage is too high, the regulator is bad and the alternator needs to be replaced or rebuilt. If it's too low, then you may have a bad alternator, but first must confirm the belt is properly adjusted and the power circuit is good to the "BAT" terminal on back of the alternator. If there is no power there, check the fusible link for the alternator. If the alternator is bad, avoid cheap, reman units. Go with a quality brand name or better, a genuine Nissan reman alternator.
