Front Bumper Trim, maybe a factory piece??? Help me out....

Postby Ninjaman » Fri Jan 01, 2010 9:49 am

I have been looking at a few items to dress up my '05 LE 2wd, and I came across a website that had several billet grilles etc. They all looked nice for the most part, but I kept seeing this trim piece on the lower part of the bumper that I was more interested in than the grilles. Mainly because it would change the look of the front of the truck a little, not too drastically, should be a breeze ti install, and doesn't appear to be something that would be overly expensive. But that is all speculation mind you as I have NOT been able to find this piece for sale, or get any other info on it. I was doing a search and this pic of an '09 Pathy came up and it has this piece on the front, and I am now thinking it might be a stock piece? Anyone know if it is, and if it will fit the bumper on an '05?

A 2008 V8 LE Model, and in this pic it more or less looks like a simple bolt on item.

I am almost 100% certain that this is a factory piece for sure, yet I can't find out anything on the nissan parts websites. Surely some brainiac here can point a brother in the right DI-rection. :)

It isn't a separate factory clip-on piece. That's why there is no parts info on it. The front bumper cover is molded that way, then that lower center section is taped and painted silver.

Oops, my bad . . . it IS a separate piece. My sincere apologies for jumping the gun.

Check here for part number ($70 US) -

Whether it'll clip/bolt on to earlier models is open to question.

I painted that area silver shortly after getting my Pathfinder. I like the look and could post a picture if I had a clue as to how to do this. I could also email anyone a pic, if interested.

Mine is silver too and I want it black, but I tried to remove it and cannot get it loose, I think I have to remove the front bumper cover clip to get to the clips. Anyone know for sure if I am correct on this thought.

Great info guys, thanks. I really don't care about the off-roading durability of the piece as my pathfinder is a 2wd, and hopefully will never be subjected to any rough terrain.

I think it looks better with that piece on there.

That bumper is not the same as the 05's and that silver part has 3 bumps as the 05 has 4 bumps. Here is a pic of my 05 to compare with. Don't want to be a party pooper but your only hope may be painting it...

DOH!!!!!!!!!

Holy fly in the ointment batman...

It does appear that may cause a problemo, but then again it may not. I will figure something out, and am not opposed to painting it like bbermann did. But to get it painted on their right will cost WAY more than 70 bucks.

I am now wondering just how precise a fit that thing is and how it closely it actually does contour to the bumper cover. Surely someone on this forum has a broken one, or one they have taken off for some reason or another.

Either one, good info, great forum for sure!!!!
