Hose leaking under intake plenum.help!

Postby 96SE4x4 » Sat Sep 20, 2014 11:37 am

There are a couple of rubber hoses under the intake plenum I think its called. One of them has a 1/2 inch gash in it and its leaking coolant. The leaking hose goes from on inlet at the bottom of the throttle body housing to somewhere under the intake plenum.I can see exactly where. It overheated last night.Today I went out and looked at it and added coolant and found that leak. What is that hose called? Where does it go? Should it have coolant in it? I need help badly. Thanks in advance.

Yes, they are supposed to have coolant. They are connected to a temp sensor diaphragm attached to throttle body. If my memory serves me correctly, you can replace them by only having to remove the throttle body assembly on top of them, the hose pieces are somewhat short. Air plenum has to be disconnected of course along with the cable.
