Skinny2 you make a great point! Plus you have to wait 2 hours before starting the motor so the glue can dry..
Got a buddy who works at the Nissan dealer, I'll check if he has this part in stock... I'll see if Nissan possibly updated the part or if it's identical to the what I have and needs to be glued.
Stay tuned

You know what they say about assumptions...but since the TSB only lists vehicles prior to January 2005, it sounds like the known issue of the TSB was corrected or was just a bad batch. I've not seen anyone complain about this on any newer models. Mine just recently started making the noise and I'm above 140k miles. I have to think the outer groove may have just worked itself loose over time and is vibrating at just the right frequency/rpm. For $40 it's worth a shot to see what happens.

Gone to the dealer and its not a warranty or a recall item.
Nissan dealer said they didn't have the part in stock and only 3 available in the whole country.
So looks likes the dealer can't even get the parts themselves, quick fix is to glue it.

I have one coming Wednesday according to my dealer. Same price as in the link from sjm999smj above but I'll save on shipping. We shall see if it actually shows up but dealer processed order while I was on phone and it didn't seem like an issue.

It will be interesting to compare the two since my '08 should have been an updated part from the start. I'll take pics of both once I get to it. Hopefully this weekend some time.

Swapped this out today without issue. The replacement part was identical to the original and I couldn't tell any difference in the edges where the TSB shows to place glue. I'll throw a couple pics below. I suppose it's possible the original valves that were subject to the TSB were made different or of a different material. I really have no clue why this part was making noise but the good news is that replacing the part fixed it.

The part number listed in a previous post includes both the actuator (the external vacuum powered piece) and the internal valve which is pictured below. I replaced both pieces and the only difficulty in that was removing the vacuum hose from the original part because it was very stuck.

I don't think I would personally do the glue fix on this. It would be more work and more cost for an individual. Reading the TSB closely, it states that the dealer making the repair can't even bill Nissan for any of the materials to make the repair because it's considered "shop supplies". The dealer only gets reimbursed for 0.4 hours of labor which there is not way you could do this repair that quickly. A good example of why warranty work isn't something dealers get excited about.

None. Drove 60 miles today with a lot of around-town mixed in and not a peep. If this one lasts 140k miles before making noise, I don't think I'll complain.

You'll need a Torx bit (27mm or 30mm, forget which) to get the valve out.

No more clicking... Took about 15 minutes to install, drove it for a half hour and no more noise.
The only thing I noticed between the old and new one was the butterfly was real loose to operate on the old valve.
Hope this one last 75,000 miles

2005's only Eh? I've got an '06 which sounds like a poster child for these symptoms. Two points keep me from tearing into it:
1) It's intermittent (worse in high heat / extended highway situations)
2) Apparently it's not going to cause secondary problems
3) It's mostly my fishing/bush truck and I really don't care about the noise that much. (I also can't count... )

Please let me know if you've experienced the power valve issue in a model past '05. Otherwise I fear it might be something more serious :(

Hi guys, I'm wondering if I performed the install of the new VIAS incorrectly. I followed this thread and after the install, I still had the noise and after driving about 40 miles; the noise got worse and even during it during idle.

Any assistance would be appreciated.
