Both look good to me. We don't have a Toyota model like that here...the Landcruiser we get is a luxury model with a starting price more than double a very well equipped Pathfinder. Pathfinder is the ONLY medium sized SUV now built with a real frame and true 4x4.

About the same story with VW...we don't get many of their really cool models. Even the few diesels they send here have their ballz chopped.

I think it´s called a Prado outside Europe, and Landcruiser LC.150 in europe. The "REAL" landcriser, the V8, even bigger, well, that has never been cool looking. Even after Arctic has done it. Never been a hit. Sorry to hear that about VW. A tuned 2.0TDI og a smaller modell with tuned 1.4TFSI, both with DSG, you would smoke SO many american "sportscars" with hughe engines hehehe. Funny to think about

Prado used to be on the same chassis as the 4Runner here. The new 4Runner is borderline full-size and nothing like current Prado or the LC.150. Bigger and heavier than previous 4Runner but same motor! Toyota has made NOTHING here I want recently. They drive like barges to boot. My wife's Sienna is horrible to drive.

I used to run a VW Jetta TDI as a daily when I was driving 50k miles/year. Had it tuned and it was still pretty slow off the line but once moving it was fun to drive. The newer ones we get are much stronger straight from the factory...but just not reliable. Audi is the same way here...great for about 50k miles then you better get a new one. Shops charge crazy $$ for repairs.

We do like our big engines. I just can't get excited about a high revving FWD....even if they can perform decent.

I see no dates or postmarks on the envelope or the enclosed letter I received, however I downloaded the reimbursement claim form (per my computer) on 1/5/2011. Somehow they knew my address as it was purchased a yr before. So judging by that, it must have come a few days earlier. I replaced my radiator at a local repair shop for peace of mind insurance some 3-4 months prior, and they paid it all. Seems there was a lot of chatter on various forums of Nissan’s decision to do this and immediately thereafter I got the letter.

The form states the program ends July 31, 2011.

I share many of your sentiments, but can’t afford to switch yet, so when, not if, repairs are needed, I have no other option than pay the big bucks. However, all mfg have issues and I thought that Nissan had better quality built in before the nameplate got glued to the metal. On second thought, maybe I should remove the PF logo on the roof racks to show my embarrassment to start with.

I hope this resolves well.

I remember hearing about this problem two years ago from a local who had to spend 4500 to replace his transmission. Since then I have done the tranny cooler bypass and have added an aftermarket cooler to help make up for the loss of cooling.

Even with the extended warranty I did not want to wind up in the desert with a dead transmission and a long way to hike. This problem is potentially fatal if kills your tranny in the middle of nowhere.

The radiator transmission warranty can be looked up by a local nissan dealership. My dealership out here in Hawaii informed me of MY extended warranties on the fuel level sending gauge, radiator, and another part I cant think of off the top of my head. The new to me pathfinder I bought was from Georgia so I wouldn't be surprised if it was a big database of extended warranties, but then again they might just be trying to fit a camel in your needle hole.

you should always go to the dealer first no matter what the issue and you shiuld always keep your warranty info with you mine is in my path righy now plus sign up on the nissan owners site and keep your info upto date its all a 20 min hassle that always gets over looked but saves more time enery and money in cases like this.

now you can have aftermaket parts and still under warranty but thats only if that exact part does not cause issue. in your case the part is part of the issue and now all this extra work is needed. i hope to see a post soon from you that it all worked out in your favor.

there is no perfect car if there was there would only be one brand. everyone has different experiences with each brand and favors the one with the least issues. i hate vw . both my jettas always broke and dealers would never warranty or the warranty parts would break and id have to have them replaced more then once. sometime up to three times
