New owner Odometer partially not functional and abs light

Postby b0r1cha » Fri Dec 11, 2015 9:20 pm

Hello guys and gals! So glad to be part of this pathfinder forum.

I just bought a 2002 nissan pathfinder for a great price and have been super happy with its performance.

When i bought the vehicle, the odometer was not working fully. It shows the first 3 numbers then the next 2 do not show and the last number only shows partially. Im assuming its a malfunction with the electrical? not an expert so I'm looking for some help!

I will get a picture soon but basically the odometer reads 145xx1 Where the x's are nothing shows up.

Anyone run into this problem?

Also my abs lights comes on and off. usually turns on after about 10-15 mins of driving then turns off and on depending on how long i drive. I haven't noticed it changing the feel of the car though. Ive tried braking hard when the light was on and off and i didn't feel a difference.

I do live in socal now but looking at the vehicles history, its from New york with rougher weather. a brief investigation led me to think it may be a faulty sensor due to rust or other debris from the snow/salty asphalt on the east coast.

any input would be great!

thanks
