New Pathfinder owner

Postby Iceman » Tue Dec 18, 2012 2:04 pm

Hi all, my name is Jim and I live in the Uk in the county of Lincolnshire.

After owning several 4x4 vehicles in the past and a short break away from 4x4 ownership,I have now gone and purchased a 2005 Pathfinder in metallic grey with 41000 miles on the clock.

Hopefully I'll be able to call on some of you guys for information should I require it in the future and help others should that need arise too :)

Are there any of you in the Uk in the Lincolnshire area? do you meet up at any time?

Iceman.

Welcome to the forum. Join a photo hosing site and post pictures of your pathfinder. I'm not sure which motor you have in your Pathfinder, but most of us have a gas powered motor.

Hi, thanks for the welcome,i'll get some photos posted up soon. My Pathfinder has got a 2.5 turbo diesel motor, there are not many if at all petrol versions over here. I know the new Navara now comes with a 3.0 V6 now and that's the biggest they do for the UK market.

As for general topics and such, there will be a lot of help. However with your Pathfinder being a diesel, there are those who can help narrow problems having delt with diesel motors before, but there are vevy few on the forum that have a diesel motor. Just not as many have joined the forum.

That's perfectly ok with me,any help should I need it will be much appreciated. Hopefully my knowledge of the diesel motor might come in handy in the future then :)

How do, I'm over in Staffs. I pop in now and again :D

Theres a reason theres not many posts about the diesels... they just keep on running :) Only issue I had with mine in the past now I've tempted fate is stalling after a startup. Turned out the dealers I got it from didn't bleed the fuel filter... I suspect they ran it dry.

It's had a recall for some wiring on the seat harness for the electric motors.

I though the belt tensioner was on its way out but they just took up the slack while it was in for the above and it's been fine since.

I've added a replacement DVD monitor (roof drop down one) and built a low profile roof rack for the holiday items when the dogs are in the back in their create.

Welcome.. about time we had some more members on this side of the pond.

Hi elpeede, thanks for the welcome. Nice to see there are some owners in the UK on here, I get over Staffs way alot as my sister lives near Newport. Probably catch up with you sometime when I go over there?

My Pathfinder has been pretty good at the moment, only had it a few months so it's early days I guess, it's a Nissan though so I don't expect it will cause me any hassle :)
