Oil Change

2001 Pathfinder SE

I'm trying to do the oil change myself but can't seem to get the oil pan nut loose. I looked at the owner's manual and came across this picture below.

If I'm looking directly at the nut, am I supposed to turn clockwise to loosen?

First time posting. Thanks in advance for the help.

The image that you have is screwed up... You unscrew the oil pan bolt like any other : counterclockwise... It simply has been bolted way too tight... Use a piece of tubing to help lenghten your ratchet..
