So my pathfinder is off to the body shop for about a month or so.
About 3 weeks ago, I got myself in a sticky situation and ended up in a accident.
I rear ended a guys F-150 after leaving the dealership. I was near an intersection when the light was red but turned green. I not paying attention to the driver in front of me and began to drive forward. I had a vehicle next to me trying to merge over since that persons lane was a construction lane. The driver ahead of me wasnt moving when the light had turned green. I glanced back at the vehicle in front of me and BAM! right into the back of his bumper.
My grille guard caught most of the damage but did more harm than good.
Unfortunately, my grille guard is not covered under insurance since it is considered an aftermarket part.
Bent Mounting bracket
The damage does not look significant in the photo however it is more revealing once the hood is popped.
I received a quote for the damage and i am currently at $4000.
I need:
A new hood
A new bumper ( cracked the bumper right where the grille guard made contact with it)
A new Grille
A new License plate ( looks like someone shot it with an AR-15 )
A new radiator frame (This mounts not only the radiator but the grille, headlights, transmission cooler, etc.)
The quote also included labor and the amount of paint in gallons they would need to use to paint all of those parts.
Insurance will cover most of the damage however, if they begin to tear the front end apart and discover more damage behind the bumper, they will claim my Pathfinder as TOTALED
We will have to wait and see how this plays out. Hoping for the best
