New Pathfinder gets the 9 Speed traditional geared Auto

I'm disappointed with the new Pathfinder. Visually it looks great.

Front wheel drive & lower ground clearance than all its competitors just killed it for me. It's being outfitted with several "off road" and awd modes, but the R52 and R53 are "Mallfinders", NOT Pathfinder.

Yes I agree it needs more ground clearance.
but unibody by itself is not as bad as many make it out to be.
Think about how well liked the unibody Pathy from the late 90s/early 2000s was.

With the 9 speed transmission and its off road modes, much all it pretty much needs is a lift and better tires.

Smartest thing Nissan can do is get away from using the CVT transmissions. Even though it's appeared that they worked most of the problems out of them going back the last four years, the bad reputation that's associated with them because of their problem-prone past will effect Nissan's sales for years if they continue to use them. It's too bad they didn't do the same thing with new Rogue.
