Z1 Off Road Products

Postby Code Pathfinder » Tue Feb 22, 2022 12:58 pm

Engine upgrades are sometimes hard to come across for our vehicles.

Nevertheless, Z1 Off-Road has heard the call for more aftermarket support and has supplied us with ample options.

Here I have installed their Intake Manifold Spacer and Their ignition coils on my 09 pathfinder V6 4.0L Engine.

I would say overall, I have definitely seen an improvement in drivability and throttle response along with a torque improvement as well.

All of these products can be found on Z1 Off Roads website.

Nice!
Did you do a retune on a dyno afterwards?
I hear most of the gains are unlocked that way :)

These two things don't require a dyno tune. Goes in and goes out don't change so its "within the bandwidth" of the existing ECU.

My $0.02 - I think the spacer provides more volume right above the intake, so there's less of a vacuum increase during throttle transients, and the ECU doesn't see a sudden demand for power that isn't being met. My truck downshifts significantly less on uphills and mid throttle acceleration efforts like entrance ramps with the spacer.
