Heated Mirrors

Does anyone know if a 06 SE can be upgraded to have the heated mirrors?

I've read somewhere that they should be prewired.

Do a search. It's been discussed on here in a thread before with links to how-to's and part numbers. Can't remember any specifics though.

Our '07 SE is prewired. We purchased the heated glass and the factory switch. Cost was around $120. Good luck!

Details? Part numbers and/or names for the whole thing would be great, if you have them.

I'm sorry, I do not have part numbers. What I understand is some Pathfinder came with the wiring harness from the main harness to the doors, while others (most) did not. Why ours already had the extension harness we are uncertain. But it was an easy plug and play on our '07 SE.

Sound like a lot of work for not much benefit. I have the heated mirrors, but it takes some time for them to clear off any frost.

Installed heated mirrors on 09 Pathfinder

Postby pgleduc » Tue Nov 08, 2011 6:14 pm

I just finished this mod. It was a fair bit more work (e.g. time) than I first expected but the final outcome is good. The mirrors work quite well.

I followed the mod posting available for the Nissan Frontier (see here:
http://www.clubfrontier.org/forums/f10/ ... ors-24476/ )

I ran in to a bit of a challenge: while I thought my 09 SE was pre-wired with the separate fuse and relay already installed for a heated mirror circuit, it was not. As I wanted an OEM look and operation, after a bit of searching I located the Rear Defog wiring (larger grey wire located under the driver's door) and tapped into it.

Given the amount of current going through these wires, I thought it important to have a good connection and soldered two separate wires to it, ran them to each mirror, ran a second wire to ground each mirror and... Presto: OEM heated mirrors that work on the same circuit as the Rear Defog.

I wondered if the added current might blow the fuse. I figured if it did, I would disconnect them and consider a plan B. But after two weeks of nearly daily use, everything is working quite well.

I wrap my side mirrors with rags, saves me a lot of time scraping/rubbing the mirrors before going/leaving work.

Cardboard on the windshield overnight works great too, just wish for no wind.
