Which part do I need reference heater coolant lines failure.

Postby Limey » Fri Jun 17, 2022 5:23 am

Day two of my 2009 Pathfinder SE ownership blew the hose near the firewall and stopped immediately. Temp guage was still in middle so didn’t overheat. Had to get towed home. They lifted the back end up and used the front wheels to tow. Hope that’s ok. It’s a RWD model.

I’m confused in which part number I need to order I’m aware that the part I need is for pathfinders with rear hvac control which mine does have. But some of the parts deprived show an electric unit attached to it that a harness connects to. And some of the parts don’t depict this part. My vehicle has this part already.

92408-ZL90B or 92412-EA500 Which one ?

Welcome to theNissanPath! :D

Do you have the V6 or the V8?
With or without rear passenger heat/AC?
(This plays a role in what parts you need)

Take advantage of NissanPartsDeal.com, their drawings and dbase are taken directly from Nissan EPC (what used to be called FAST). When you plug in your VIN, the dbase will pull up the exact part numbers your ride was built with and show any supersessions to a newer part. When you plug in the two different p/n's, one of them will show a no-fit and you'll have your answer.

The part 92408-ZS20A is nothing like what's in my vehicle. I can't even work out how this part number would work for my application. Mines a v6 With rear HVAC I believe the part I need is 92408-ZL90B was hoping to get confirmation.

There's an amazon pattern part as well..

If you don't like NissanPartsDeal, call the dealer. Your VIN will get you the right part number. Then use that to google for bargains.

I ordered the no name brand Chinese made
From Amazon. Fingers crossed it’ll last . Lol.

Only because it’s fast delivery and I can send it to my mechanic where the pathfinder was towed to on Monday.

Thanks. Perhaps non OEM parts have come along away than 20 years ago or so. It’s being delivered today and I’ll hand it over to mech on Monday to install. This is something I would have probably done myself. But I’m older now not as fit and the Florida heat is a killer.

Can you do me a favor and look at the black rubber hose leaving the heating component of the hose assembly please. Mine seems to be resting on the valve cover.

Yah, that looks like it will eventually chafe. I think I'd throw some self-stick foam underneath it if you can't tie it back.

And then back to square one again with a tow truck lol.

Can I use one of those anti chafe wraps around it ?
Forgot what the name of it was now. Your high temp foam tape idea sounds good also. Like attach a piece to the valve cover where the hose touches ?

The EVAP inspection hose was already chafed as its also resting on the valve cover.

That chafe wrap works fine too. I use HVAC foam from Lowe's or Home Depot and wrap the hose with it (sticking stuff on the engine pushes my "ugly aesthetics" button). But the rocker covers don't get much past 200F in normal operation, so you can do it either way. The main thing is just having something there to pad it.
