Sorry to bump an old thread..
But my oil pressure gauge just got stuck on the "middle" reading.

Whether engine is hot or cold idling or at 65 mph, indicated pressure stays same.

I just had my oil change done at local dealer a couple days ago.
Could the sensor have been "bumped"?

Around 07 or 08, Nissan turn the oil pressure gauge into a dummy gauge and used an oil pressure switch, rather than a sender. The gauge either reads halfway or nothing.
I just read this,..... so this explains my "issue".

is it possible to have a real pressure sending unit from an earlier model year installed in order to recreate the functionality of an actual pressure reading?

Nope, the new one have 2 wires vs 3 and a different connector.

$54 is about the lowest I've seen them go for. Most usually go through the passenger side wheel well to get to it.
Looks like it's my turn to do this deed.
The wheel well approach looks much more palatable than the face full of oil approach.
Just pull the wheel & tupperware?
How much oil loss is there if done without draining the engine first?
Thanks, good to be back, haven't been around here much lately.
Do we still have an on-board service manual somewhere?
