Finally got myself a compressor air pump

Postby palmerwmd » Sun Sep 17, 2023 8:27 pm

Finally got myself a compressor air pump for my tires.
I have one tire especially where it has a super slow leak.
Maybe 2-3 psi per month.

No one has been able to locate it.

So every month I pay my $$ at the gas stations air pumps.
Often they are broke or take your money beofre you are done.
The one I bought today was form Walmart.
I bought a unit for some 50+ USD.
In years past i had once bought a unit for 20 bucks, but that broke the first time I needed it so hopefully this one will last longer.

Took the opprtunity to plus up all 4 tires and boy does it feel like it woke up the car!
Talk about a cheap "tune up".

I've been telling people for ages that you can even make a '69 DeVille handle with 70 psi in the tires.

I had a slow leak that lost about a half pound each week compared to the other tires. That turned out to be the the valve stem, and not the tire itself.

I would have recommended the Milwaukee air pump that is on sale quite often. Set the psi you want and once it hits the goal, it stops. A full charge will pump my 33" tires plus top off another vehicle before battery is drained. Obviously it'll benefit anyone the most that already has a a Milwaukee line up of tools.

Not sure if this is possible, however, I too had something like this.
My tire mechanic found it - it was a cracked TPMS. He found it after taking it off the rim.

My leak was a nuisance as well. I had a Ryobi powered drill and I purchased the pump that matched the battery and was doing this for awhile
