Hey all,

Bought this R51 back in 2016 with about 40k miles on it. Wife has been daily driving it since.

It's a 2011 Silver Edition 4WD. We added a Rancho Quicklift at about 60k miles and have loved it since. Currently sitting on 285/70R17s Wildpeake A/T3Ws that have been wearing super well. Other than the lift and a K&N Cold air intake it's pretty much stock and now has about 135k miles. We take it on an offroading run here and there and it has been a HUGE workhorse for us! We love it!

We were going to sell it (hence all the super clean pics) but life just threw us a curveball and now it's going to be my daily driver. New tires and some other very minor changes coming. Looking forward to getting to know some of you around here!

2011 with 135K - it's barely broken in.
Welcome.

Thanks! I just did a 2200 mile road trip from Boise to Phoenix and towed about 2500 pounds of trailer home in it, too.

Yeah! I think so, too! I just put AT4Ws on it last week and it's got a clunk in the rear suspension I hope to fix but am hoping for another 100K miles before she pukes a trans or engine! Since I bought it so young, I have all my maintenance records on it and know its been taken care of.

I don't plan to do a "build thread" per se but will do like a rolling "build" as I make it "mine". I have ALWAYS HATED the running boards but the wife insisted on keeping them. Can't wait to pull them off! I am going to put a better exhuast on it and need to do something about gearing. Ever since I upped the tire size (about 55k miles), the trans shifts WAY too early and it bogs often. I also have to manually get it to down shift when hitting some hills on cruise comntrol or towing. I have not spent any brain power on fixing that yet. Are there any good tuners for these?

Once those are done, I will start some minor offroading upgrades. The departure angle is pretty terrible and I have drug @$$ a sooo many times. Usually, I remove the spare and throw it in the back to help departure angle some but that's kind of a PITA to do every time I go offroading. I would also love some sort of limited slip in the back and/or a locker in the front. Twice, while offroading I have twisted it in a way where I got stuck becuase I had one front and one rear tire hanging and needed some help to get moving again.

Again, it's a daily driver so everything I do has to be roadable. I don't want to add a ton of weight to it, like beefy bumpers and stuff, but want to do some fun mods here and there.
