1999.5 Nissan Pathfinder 90,000 miles maintenance

Postby Joho » Sat Apr 25, 2009 7:50 pm

Hello all,

My 1999.5 Nissan Pathfinder SE has recently hit the 90,000 mile mark, and this time I intend to try and do as much as the maintenance and work as I can by myself.

My first and foremost question pertains to the exact jobs that need to be done--the owner's manual only outlines services up to 60,000 miles. Should I follow what the manual has for the 30,000 mile maintenance?

Thanks in advance!

Two questions. At 60k did you or a PO perform the full 60k advised maintenance? Are you following Schedule 1 or 2 maintenance schedule?

From perusing the FSM it looks like you should be pretty safe performing the 30k maintenance assuming the full 60k was performed. I would follow the schedule 1 maintenance by the way. If you can't confirm the sched 1 60k was done do that. And since you're in there you might as well change the timing belt since it's called for at 105k. Unless it's already been changed.

The car used to be my family's, and my father takes pretty good care and is right on top with scheduled maintenances, so I'm pretty sure it's safe to say that the 60,000 mile service was done.

I had the timing belt and components replaced somewhat recently.

If you feel confident then yea, I'd just do the 30k sched 1. If you went with the 60k shed 1 it would probably only cost a few more dollars. But that's up to you. Good luck.
