I have a 1991 that just passed 263K original owner miles...
Things i've done:
- no service except oil changes/filter/fluid changes from 150K->191K
- replaced original shocks @ 191K
- rebuilt transmission @ 227K (Manual 5 speed)
- Front wheel bearings @ 241K
- Timing Chain @ 85K, 150K (or so) and 205K (yes 3 times...)
- Ujoints @ 212K (they were a bit loose, probably could've avoided this)
- did a new clutch with the new transmission @ 227K the previous clutch was done at about 130K if i remember right.
- replaced the exhaust manifolds for the 2nd time @ 234K (you end up doing this about every 100K miles on this model)
- replaced the starter motor @ 249K
Despite the fact that that looks like a lot of stuff to do, the car has never been a reliability problem. The only time i got "stuck" anywhere was with the starter and that was in my garage... I was able to roll start the car and drive it to the service. The car has *never* been towed except for an accident at about 110K.
Overall i love it. I figure i've gotten over the hump of significant repairs int he 200->230K range and now its probably good for another 40-50K with relatively little work. The only thing i KNOW i have to do is another timing chain around 270-275K
