Which Fluids are best for a 2005 Pathfinder

Postby initialsrbs » Tue Nov 10, 2009 11:37 am

I just turned 60k on my 05 Pathfinder and am looking to change all of my fluids. I'll get the Nisssan Matic S from the dealer, so that covers the ATF. Any recommendations on diff fluid, transfer case, coolant, etc?

I plan on doing the tranny cooler bi-pass after Thanksgiving when I have some more free time. Scary how many stories I've read on trannies being trashed from the coolant leaking in.

Thanks in advance!

I'd suggest you tackle that bypass ASAP. I was worried and I finally just went and did it, didn't need any couplers or vacuum caps , just routed the shorter hose from the radiator to the trans line whtn the long hose was connected. It didn't take more then 30 mins, longest part of it was unbolting the valance and front skid plate.

You need the caps on the radiator. What happens if the divider between the radiator & oil cooler gives out ? You dump coolant out !!
I'd recomend you install them NOW

I just by pass the rad by taking the shorter hose and connecting it directly to the trans where the longer hose was coming out. I then use the long hose to cap off both radiotor ends. clean and nothing to buy.
