Rear passenger door permanently locked...

Hi there,

My rear passenger door will not open...! 2005 Pathfinder
Tried with remote locked /unlocked and will not have it.....

Any ideas anyone..???

have you tried the door handle? i know that my remote has never opened the door by itself.... i have to use the handle.

no seriously, you need to give a little more info than "it wont open"...

are you unable to open from outside and inside?
does the inside lock show that the door is supposed to be unlocked?
is the child safety switch engaged?
have you tried using the power door lock switch on the drivers door to unlock the doors?

it's extremely hard to diagnose a problem over the internet without any information.

Apologies.

the door wont open from inside or out with the car being unlocked, child locks are not on and the power door lock does not unlock it.

Brute force is not working either.

Where are you located? Is the door frozen shut due to moisture frezzing on or around the door seals? this used to happen to our Jetta all the time.

I had the problem one time with a Colorado that I was driving. the doors would lock when you would put it in gear and than unlock when you put it back in park. well my wife would pull the door handle to get out while I would be putting it in park and the door would be in this half locked stage. the only way I could get it unlocked was to manually unlock the lock while pulling on the door handle from the outside at the same time.

I had this happen to me before... Try making sure the window is fully latched closed. If it's not, then the main door won't open.

I also am having this problem with my driver's side rear door, sounds like it's unlocking but won't open but on rare occasions.

Uhhhh...what?

....oh wait, nevermind. I think you are thinking of the lift gate, and they are talking about the rear passenger door. That being said. I can open the lift gate, even if the glass is open.
