Plastic parts breaking left and right... Pathy 2006

Postby sesanchez » Mon Feb 15, 2010 2:03 pm

Hello guys... Second post here,...

This one will be a bit of a complaint... I have 2 paths. 2001 and 2006... The 2006, I had two plastic parts break already, while 2001 is as good as new...

Is this a problem with the quality of the parts? What should I do?

One of the parts that broke is the top power outlet cover on the lower passenger side of the dashboard... right of the center console.

The other plastic that broke is the latch for the Center Console.

Should I just go to the Dealer and get new parts?

Thanks!

The power outlet cover doesnt seem common. All of mine are still in tact on my '05.
As for the armrest latch, there is a tech bulletin on it and I think the latch is finally available separately... You used to have to buy the whole armrest lid unless you could get it covered by Nissan.

Here is a link to buying the latch online...

Its funny how everybody breaks the latch.. I bought my pathy used and it didnt have a latch so i never bothered with it so i think you can live without it. I have for over a year now.

I never replaced my latch and I am used to it being broken. I dont see much need to replace it when it would just break again. I think it is my fault anyway since I use the armrest for leverage when I am getting in and out of the seat.

I believe the r50's were made in japan up until 2003-2004.

the r51 2005+ were for the most part, made here in the states.

coincidence ? I think not. we are practically driving an american made car with amercan made quality.

My rear cupholder broke. The one at the rear of the center console... Easy replacement but I had to spend over $125 since it comes as a whole assembly...

THIS IS REALLY PISSING ME OFF!!!! SO MUCH MONEY AND YOU GET THIS CRAP. A PATHFINDER BUT REALLY A DURANGO UNDEARNEATH.

YOU CAN SEE THAT EVERYTHING IS CHEAP AND RATTLY AND MATERIAL ISNT FASTEND PROPERLY....
SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT A 4RUNNER.

A 4 RUNNER WITH A 100k ON IT WOULD DRIVE BETTER THAN THIS.

WHY ARE YOU SHOUTING ?

nissans always had the issue with the interior rattling. even the old ones.

when i went out to get my 08, the dealership told me that ill start to hear noises inside the car after a year or so.

best solution is turn the radio up.

but it's still japanese designed and I think all the parts are from japan.

the 5runner and pathfinder are very different, some people prefer the raw, strong, utilitarian look and feel of the path.
