The 08 S has the same interior and tranny options as some of the 05-07 basic models..the 08+ ( excluding the S trim) has the manual trip tronic style tranny..And since you dont have the o/d button im assuming its an SE..just shift the gear lever to the manual mode and see what happens..like evryone said i think its just going in and out of O/D..I just thought it was normal nyways doesnt bother me much so just let it be other wise just exercise your right foot it'll all dissapear

Yeah i do have the LE with the manual shift option. When I drive it I usually use that and leave it in 4th and it doesn't do it. My wife doesn't. It just seems like it isn't good on the tranny.

the reprogram does soften the shock significantly

What else can be done with a reprogram? Maybe firmer shifts?

nothing really...the ECM flash comes as a whole program, you can't taylor cells for specific things....though the TCM does sopport things like engine braking changes..
