HIDS once again

Postby amanmith » Wed Mar 24, 2010 11:54 am

I know there are a lot of differing views on HIDS, but i just wanted to get some opinions on a couple kits.

i'm just looking to get HIDs installed and to make sure they actually low to high beam HID and not halogen. Can anyone tell me if these kits are what I need and which one is the best? Appreciate any help

yea there are cheaper ones out there. Try to stay between 4300K ~ 6000K those are good color temps to go with. They won't be too blue or purplish and they actually give the most light output of all the colors.

I ordered the DDM kits for headlights and fog lights after them being recommended in another thread here. They have a ton of positive reviews on other forums online and they are on sale now too so that is good. I should have them Sat or Mon. Once installed I will post pics. I got the slim kits but understand the regular ones fit fine in the Path.

These guys are really fair. I ordered mine, price dropped 2 days later, called them they refunded me the difference ($20).

I plan to order more soon for the other vehicles.

Do a quick google search on them. There are a few other boards...BWM and CIVIC that a ton of people have them and all great reviews. For the price if they don't hold up, not much of a loss. Better that spending $125+ on a kit and it turning out to be crap.

I have them on my 05 Pathfinder and they are awesome. I have both Fogs and Headlights. I went with the ones that are High and Low Beams. they are great. I have been pleased all around both with service, shipping, price, and product.

I also have their HID's in my CBR, and my Integra. In the Path, I went with the APEXCONE 55W in the Headlights, and 35W in the Fogs. In the Integra, I have the DDMTuning 55W slim ballasts in the low beams. I have the 55W Slim ballasts in both low and high beam on the bike.

On the bike they make a huge difference, especially during daylight hours, as it helps with visibility to other drivers who generally pay no attention. I have had them on the bike for about a year. There are guys on the CBR forum who have been running them for a couple years with no issue at all.

As long as the ballasts are good, even if you blow a bulb every now and again, they aren't expensive to replace.

YMMV.

i put in a 6000K kit 9007 bulbs, and it didnt really make a difference.

the light is stronger, but is scattering everywhere. doesnt really help in seeing ahead much as its useful for flashing the honda in front of you doing 40 on the highway.

Does the 55w ballast burn the bulb ? because bulbs design to work with 35w.

I need advice between 4500 or 5000k. I'm looking for somthing similar to OEM color light like bmw or lexus it look like super clear white.

Installed the 9007 Hi/Low 35W 6K set today. I must say that they are bright as hell  and if installed correct and tight they hit the road perfect. Did a few test runs with a friend in front of me at a bunch of distances.

The 35w 6K has a nice light blue tint to it from the sides. I had a 2003 Infiniti QX4 and These lights are almost identical in color to those stock Xenon's.

I am glad I went with the slim kit, not sure where I would have put the bigger ones  but I do see some that have them.

Fog light install in the next few days...
