Which month for model year changeover

Postby twinblown » Thu Apr 08, 2010 11:50 am

Does anyone know what month of the year does Nissan consider their vehicle(s) as the the next model year? as example a production date of July 05.... is it an 05 or an 06 model; what is the norm if there is one.

i believe the new model years come out in september, but they also have "half" model years (i.e. 2005.5, 1997.5)

I dont think there is a "norm" for production date/ year model crossing. Best thing to do is read the 10th digit of the Vin for the year model... Guess work is eliminated.

hummm , the reason I ask is because Mitsubishi labels their new model year cars on the first week production of July. so as a example a 1st week production date of July 2010 is put out as a 2011 model, interpreted as 07.01.10
My Path is September 05 production , does it make it an 06?

Every manufacturer can be different. That is why I say read the Vin. Elimate the guessing and need to know production date values. What is the 10th digit of your Vin? If it is a "5", you have an '05. If the 10th digit is a "6", you have an '06.
