Hella Drving Lights Intsall

Postby Cr@2y Gr33k » Tue Jul 06, 2010 5:50 am

Hi All, it's been a while since I've posted anything on this forum, but I have a question about installing a new set of lights that i purchased for the Pathfinder. I need a how to on how to install Hella Driving lights, because the set of instructions that came with the box is a little confusing. I also don't want to go and have them installed, because I want to do it myself. How hard/easy is this to do for a first timer like me? Thanks for your help.

It is very easy, just follow the instruction that came with it, the hard part for me was where to run the wires, other than that it is cake. If you want I can take pics for you of my install after work or if your in a hurry I can text you pics.

OK. That's a start. I have a couple other questions though. When I am looking at the lamp housing, I know that I need to connect the black wires for the lamp output. Where do the blue wires go to that are on the lamp housing? Are they the ground? Also where do I connect the green wire to after I connect it to the relay? Does it go to the battery?

Yes the blue is ground, and as for the green wire, your suppose to connect it to a parking lamp, but I ran mine into a fuse box under the hood on the passenger side.

So I mounted everything, and connected all the wiring like the diagram that came in the box shows. The only thing is, I don't want the lights to work only with the high beams on. I want to be able to turn them on and off even when I have the parking lights on. A couple friends gave me some advice on how to connect the wire for power to the fuse box, but that didn't work. How do you wire them XD?

Yellow is the realy. Black went to the lights. Blue is the ground. the green wire I attached to the high beams.

In the pic above where its marked in white, go into that fuse box and find the 15 amp fuse that should be marked something like H/Lamp Lo Rh or H/Lamp Lo Lh, pick one and put the green wire into that.

Ill try and get pix.

So, I re-wired the green wire, and did exactly what was in the photo, and it works perfectly now. Thanks for the advice XD
