Req: "Before You Buy" Advice

Postby 03Glx4mowagon » Tue Jul 20, 2010 9:50 am

Hey guys, I just discovered an 04 Pathfinder SE in my area for 12k. It only has 70k miles on it and it's looking like a good deal.

Right now I have an 03 Passat Glx 4motion (top of the line) wagon and I'm thinking of trading the thing. It's a great car but the repairs are expensive and seemingly endless!

Is there anything I should know before looking into this car? Things took look out for, repairs, maintenance, reliability etc.? For example, on the Passat the timing belt is the big one at 90k... costs about $1500, and most people have leaks in their sunroofs etc.

Or if you could just send me a link to a similar topic that'd be great.

Thanks!

I got a steal of a deal on my 04 SE, 14.5 with 40k on it. I was lucky however and knew the owner of the dealership, it was a heck of a find being one owner, a doctor, who had it garage kept. One thing for sure, it will be worth every penny if you get it. stock they are beasts and will prove worth its weight in gold!
