Lube the chassis

Postby brookierookie » Wed Jun 02, 2010 8:34 am

I have a haynes manual that recommends lubing certain points on the chassis, and if there are no lube fittings, to install them. For a 2004 3.5L V6 Pathy, does anyone know exactly where these fittings are on the underside of the car? Does anyone have any picture of what it would look like?

lube the chassis

I too saw that the maintenance guide recommends lubing the chassis and driveshafts, but I couldn't see any fittings either on my 04. I'm assuming that they used sealed fittings that don't require it. My buess is the best way to verify would probably be to call a dealer and talk to the service dept... I should do this myself but haven't.

Unless

Unless... They mean lube the pivot points of the swingarms and A Arms with some spray lube ... all the joints that normally (usa made cars ) have grease fittings , were yeah.... sealed .
I just sprayed some T-9 (my favorite ) (goes on wet , then hardens up to like a thin grease) on all the pivot points of the suspension ...

there is no chassis lub and only 1 zerk on the front driveshaft .. once you start upgrading your parts (links, ball joints, tie-rods, etc..) it's always good to opt for a greasable version...
