Bumper Mouth Bracket for Frontier, Pathfinder maybe

Postby fangars » Tue Sep 21, 2010 8:24 pm

Hello everyone, I have been developing products for Nissan Xterra's and Frontiers for the past almost two years.

I have just developed a Bumper Mouth Bracket for the 2005+ Frontiers and it just occurred to me these might fit the 2005+ Pathfinders.

Is this possible? Are the bumpers the same?

Very nice! You're going to make a lot of people happy here. I assume you cut the pieces (is it aluminum?) & add bolts for a kit? How much do you want for one? Is it a PITA to install? What size lights are those?

CNC machined aluminum with stainless steel clamping straps and hardware.
Easy to install.

Those lights are lights I got from walmart for $20 a pair, highest quality lights I have ever used in that price range. You can get the same lights on the internet under a different model number but they will cost you over$10 more for some reason.

These lights are exactly 3.6" in diameter and the brackets on these lights are versatile so that you can mount them at the same height as the diameter. You can also easily reverse the light's bracket to mount it more forward if you want. A great light at a much higher grade of quality then I was expecting when I bought them. Very sturdy build for both the light and the bracket they attach with.
That dimension also happens to be the largest height I recommend for that application, any taller and they would not be adjustable.

For my own truck I use Hella Micro DE lights. $120 a pair. Pricy stuff.

I agree...clean install...I LIKE IT!

Been looking at ways to add lights to the front of my pathy for a while now (have OR lights on the roof, but they're covered for daily driving). I was going to go the bull bar route and mount a few big KCs or Hellas on that (or even a custom light mount like I had on my Xterra), but if you're going to offer this mount, I'm in!

Went to ABC Nissan here in Phoenix last night.

They only had three Pathfinders on their entire lot. Two of them were used 2008's
They all had plastic grill structures on the bumper mouths so I could not tell if my product will work in those, I see Pathfinders on the street all the time without those grills so I dont know what the score is on that.

As far as the Frontiers go there are two different styles, different enough I will need to develop an entirely new version for the two piece bumpers.

Pics to come.

Today I visited Power Nissan. Not much going on as far as 4x4 vehicles. The only 4x4 there was a 2008 Nissmo Crew Cab that they put the plastic step rails on.
They did let me put my bracket up in the different bumper styles which I made marks on with a shapie so I know where to add the extra holes.
Differences as I now understand them are the one piece bumpers such as the one I used to develop the bracket had 13.5" between the two outside verticals, as did the two piece bumpers. The only difference seems to be the two piece verticals rise forward and will force me to design a different clamp.
The new one piece bumpers now have the space between the outside verticals at 16" which means I just need to add more holes, same clamps can be used. There is also a slight difference in the arc shape the bracket follows but since this bracket rests on top of the bumper material and is not flush with it such as it is in the Xterras, that does not matter too much. The shape is close enough.

Here is the only 2011 I saw on the lot.

Fangars, I'm interested in this for my 07 Pathfinder. If you need any pics or measurements, let me know, be glad to help out.
