Fuel sender update

Postby Tech » Tue Nov 09, 2010 6:49 pm

From now on, there is an additional part the goes in when replacing fuel level senders, including those under the warranty extension/campaigns. It's a shield. Make sure you get one. Part #'s to follow. As per usual, not able to say much more than that.

Hey Ferds,
unsure at this time....still working out the details. However, if you go in within one year/12,000mi - with "some" complaint like "it seems to read inaccurately"....hypothetically....it could be done again under parts warranty and should then also get the cover.

Getting my sending unit replaced this upcoming Friday. Hopefully it will include the shield. I'll ask about it anyways.

So...I got the fuel level sending unit replaced and its WAY better than the old. It's accurate and goes down gradually as opposed to huge jumps.

Is it not supposed to down in jumps? hmm, I always thought it was like some of the cars I had. I guess I should go have my fuel pump changed once I get back from this period underway I'm in. Thanks Tech. What is it they found was causing this issue and what does the shield do to prevent this if I may ask?

Tech, great to hear from you.

It's been raining cats and dogs around here, but yes, I just rode my bike to work today. We're expecting snow tonight so......riding season might be done...for a couple of weeks.

Hey KEVSTER,

Love the snow, we just got a whole pile of it. It's been pretty nippy out there too. I was in Bellingham on Sat. night and it was cold, icy and the wind was howling...but I finished my Christmas Shopping. :D
