ok, so i am seeing that no one has actually seen behind the panel where the subs are. there is a black box that has 2 6.5 inch speakers in it. the box is held in by two bolts sticking out and three bolts on the top. the holes in the box for the speakers are made for those speakers only. the chances of modifying the box for an 8" sub are fairly slim. that's gonna be a pain. it would be better to just make a custom box. that is just my .02 though. good luck and post pics when you decide what you are going to do. thanks.

I have a 2008 Pathfinder apart in my shop right now. It's a project to get all the trim out but here is what it looks like.

Nissan website lists the subs as " two 5.25" Nd® Richbass® enclosed woofers"

i finally took of my panel to run my camera cables and was shocked to see these two garbage speakers. they could've put a ten there.

Hey for all of you looking to get a sub in the factory location.
I just order this: http://tiny.cc/yyycj
It is a Kenwood self-powered subwoofer it is only Dimensions: 14-1/2"W x 3-9/16"H x 8-7/8"D just to give a nice clean little bump. I plan on puting it in the stock sub location (I need the room)

Installed

Postby jrk042385 » Sat Nov 20, 2010 2:25 pm

Ok so I attempted to install the kenwood into the stock sub location only to find out the stock location could not fit it. So I installed it under the middle section of the second row. The fit was perfect!!! The sound was not it was too muffled. I anticipated this so i left my long so I could move it. I simple slide it through the gap of the seat back and the bottom cushion pulled forward to the third row floor. This made this little sub sound so much better. While I am used to hearing 2000W 12's this 150W gave me the little bit of bump that the stock system was missing. I also added 2 aux lines into the factory aux in (behind the dash)
